Kathotiya

Kathotiya is situated on the outskirts of the city, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh.

My friends and I visited this place in the month of January. It was completely unplanned and we had a lot of fun!

This little journey began from a narrow road that led to a campsite. People usually visit kathotiya jungle camp to spend weekends and relax. We, on the other hand, decided to go for a trek instead. There are two treks in kathotiya, one that leads to a waterfall and the other is famous for adventure sports such as rock climbing.

We were welcomed by a cute Indian breed dog at the campsite. The fauna was vast spread and green even in winters in that area. After climbing up a few meters, the view was mesmerizing. After resting for a bit and clicking a few pictures, we continued walking up the hill. The trek ahead was pretty dangerous. It was a narrow path of rocks that led to a small cave. That path had an inclination of almost 75-80 degrees. Pretty rough! We somehow climbed up that patch and crossed the cave. It took more than a few minutes and tires, but we did. The view from the hilltop was breathtaking. It was worth everything we did to climb. A perfect blend of fauna, green fields, Sun, wind, and songs. The weather was great that day which was like a cherry on top.

This place was not crowded at all, there was only one other group who climbed after us. It is a great place to relax, enjoy and have fun with friends and family.
